The Peninsula District joined together for the 2026 Convocation with presentation by Pastor Randy Maxwell and Dr. Tiago Arrias.
Pastor Maxwell reminded us of the power of prayer and led us in a prayer train (23:12). This powerful time brought us closer to God and each other.
Afterwards, Dr. Tiago Arrais took the stage (1:11:14) to discuss the idea of “Will we hear?” or maybe even more accurately, “Can we even listen?” He discussed the distraction we face in our modern world and how it affects our perception of he voice of God. He brought up that while the tools that distract us might be unique to our day, the concept of distraction by preconceived notions is not. We read about the early church dealing with such things in Acts 1. As he ended, he left us with the advice to examine our own lives and honestly answer the question, “What is keeping us from hearing?”
