We close our 2026 Peninsula District Convocation with Dr. Tiago Arrias taking the stage one last time and speaking on the piercing question: will we be offended? (48:29). The question was taken from John 6, where Jesus asked the same question to his disciple, “Does this offend you?”
When we look at the exhortations of the Bible – unity, humility, self-sacrifice – in through the lens of the modern mind, we can be offended. And offense often leads one to exit relationship and religion. But Dr. Tiago Arrais challenged us to stay, struggle, and love within our communities rather than flee. Revival isn’t waiting on God — it’s waiting on us to listen, to suffer, and to stop being offended by the call to love beyond ourselves.
